Now that you’ve found your perfect swimsuit, it’s time to cover it all up. With style, of course.
I prefer to wear cover-ups that really do cover me up, so I don’t feel exposed while enjoying my cobb salad poolside (or beachside).
The Sarlo Cover Up from Carve Designs ($66) is sheer voile cotton with a deep V-neck. It’s hard to tell from this photo, but it also has pretty pink embrodery around the neck, sleeves and hem.
At Roberta Rolling Rabbit, designer Roberta Freymann transforms the traditional Indian kurta into modern beach and resort wear. The bright handblocked prints make this super-soft piece ideal for the sunny beach.
Classic Kurta in Dee Orange $85 from Roberta Roller Rabbit
Julia Farr carries colorful tunics from Wanderlust. I like the classic pairing of turqoise and navy in the Lomboq dress…
…while the Cocoa Beach Dress is a bit more funky.
Wanderlust and Roberta Roller Rabbit tunics are all made of a lighweight, 100% cotton. An added bonus is that any one of them will also look sharp over a pair of white jeans, making one less thing for you to pack on that beach vacation.
If you prefer to show a bit more skin, Old Navy has several styles of easy, strapless smocked tube dresses for less than $20.
I’ll leave you with this marvelous cover up from Trina Turk ($137), available at Nordstom’s.
It’s so lovely, I don’t know that I could bear to taint it with sand and sunblock. I’d have to sit quietly, under an umbrella, next to the pool. At least it would keep me out of the sun.
