We had our first snowfall yesterday. After an unusually balmy fall, winter has arrived, just in time for Christmas.
It’s also freezing. What better way to stay warm than bundling up in a fur? Whether it’s real or fake, nothing makes you feel quite as glamorous, and warm, as a fur coat.
Check out the gorgeous Mary J. Blige in this month’s issue of Elle Magazine, modeling all sorts of furs. She sports several long-haired styles, which were a bit too shaggy for me, like this goat hair jacket from Gucci:
I prefer the more refined look of the Russian sable fur coat from Sorbara
It’s available at Neiman Marcus, with price upon request, which means I can’t afford it.
Fake fur is a more accessible, and, as my daughter stresses, more humane way to wear fur.
The Leopard Faux Fur Coat, by Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent, is not only lush and adorable, it’s a much more reasonable $295, from Bloomingdale’s.
Of course, this little shearling number from DKNY suits me just fine this holiday season;
Ho, ho ho!
