Wrap it up for the Holidays

Gold Sequin Shawlsmith London Wrap at Julia Farr

Ann,

It was tropically warm in DC yesterday. Our shop door was open all day with the warm breezes coming in…coats were left in the closets…you couldn’t catch even a chill in the air if you tried.  So last evening there was no need for the fun fur for the holiday party — it was all about the WRAP.  A great addition to your evening wardrobe, a gorgeous shawl is like holiday wrapping paper. It transforms a minimalist sheath dress or monochromatic palette (my favorite) of a top and pants into a festival of jewel-tones shades and ornate texture. I know you find yours during your travels in India, but I have found some stunning wraps for the store from from London Shawlsmith, an accessories line begun by London entrepreneur Chaudry Rehman in 2004.

The ones I chose for Julia Farr are from his premier line — all about $350 each and completely exquisite.  They offer the versatility of being two-sided and the added elegance of  beading, crystals and sequins.  Here are some quick photos we took yesterday of our current collection (but don’t wait, they are flying out the door!)

Here in a buttery gold and black.

And awash in sequins…

Not the best photo, but a gorgeous wrap for $365 at Julia Farr

You can take these wraps right through the winter with you (and the sequin wraps are great for cool summer evenings, too).  Wear them wrapped around you or tied around your neck in a slip knot.  They’ll brighten up your day, as well as your wardrobe.  From sunny Washington, DC, as Bing Crosby sang in one of my favorites holiday tunes, “MELE KALIKIMAKA, ANN!”  Wishing yours is Merry and Bright!

(Call Julia Farr today at 202-364-3277 to purchase one of the wraps here and we will offer our blog readers a 15% discount)
