I’m so glad we’re on the same Black and White page for Spring. It is everywhere!  Before we leap ahead into other trends and colors, I wanted to share with you and others a few great photos of the beautiful women of Washington, DC, wearing designs from Julia Farr to the Inaugural Balls last week.  We were really excited that Hallie Biden and Kathleen Biden modeled gowns designed by Robin Brouillette, Raoul and Ports 1961 chosen from our collection of gowns at the boutique in Washingtonian Magazine’s January Issue – and even more excited that Kathleen chose to wear the black sequined Ports 1961 gown to the Inaugural Ball!

Washingtonian’s Fashion Editor, Kate Bennett, chose a breathtaking long satin sheath from New York designer, Robin Brouillette, in a deep eggplant shade and looked just breathtaking in it:

Fabulous Fran Holuba, a White House staffer, was exquisitely gilded in Ports 1961 gold and platinum degrade gown with origami back detail, photographed here with Katy Perry:

New to our boutique is Washington Life writer, Michelle Goodliff, who chose this show-stopping iconic Halston Heritage black long sheath for the big event.

I hope to have a few more photos to share, but wanted to post these right away.  The selections for the evening from Julia Farr were primarily straight sheaths in both neutral and metallic shades, with one cobalt gown that walked out the door right before closing.  Although we had some other styles to offer, none of our clients went for the full skirt, extra fluff or bright colors.  It was true Washington, DC style: elegant and chic but not overdone.  A fashion predictor for the next four years??
